Mirror for Zoom
Automatic leadership coaching from your recorded Zoom meetings
Mirror is a private leadership coach. Normally you'd paste a meeting transcript in by hand — this integration removes that step. Connect your Zoom account once, and whenever you record a meeting to the Zoom cloud, Mirror quietly picks up the transcript, analyzes how you showed up as a leader, and the coaching simply appears in your account. No copying, no uploading.
Add the integration
The Zoom connection is made from inside Mirror, so you'll need to sign in first. After signing in, go to Settings → Connected apps → Connect Zoom.
How to use it
- Go to Settings → Connected apps and select Connect Zoom.
- Confirm the consent checkbox, then approve the permissions on Zoom's screen. You'll be returned to Mirror and the card will show Connected.
- Turn on "Coach me on the meetings I record". This is off by default — nothing is analyzed until you switch it on.
- Run your meetings as usual. For any meeting you host from the connected Zoom account and record to the Zoom cloud, you don't need to do anything else.
- A few minutes after Zoom finishes processing the recording, the coaching appears in My Analyses — scored on the six leadership dimensions, with a key insight and a suggested experiment.
What Mirror asks for, and why
View your user information
So Mirror can match your Zoom account to your Mirror account.
View your cloud recordings
So Mirror can read the transcript (or audio) of meetings you recorded, in order to coach you on them.
Zoom also lists cloud_recording:read:recording, which it adds because Mirror is told when a recording is ready; Mirror makes no request with it. Mirror requests nothing else. It never joins, starts, schedules or modifies a meeting, and it only ever sees recordings owned by the account that connected.
Your data and your participants
- Recordings are never stored by Mirror. The audio or video is read once, converted to text, and discarded. If Zoom has no transcript, the audio goes to our transcription provider, AssemblyAI, and Mirror has it deleted there as soon as the text comes back. The full transcript is not kept either; your coaching may quote a few short lines so you can see the moment it refers to.
- Only your own meetings. Mirror can only see recordings belonging to the Zoom account that connected — never a whole company's recordings.
- The coaching is about you. Mirror analyzes how you communicated as a leader, not the other participants.
- Your coaching is private to you. Nobody else sees your analyses unless you share a report. Mirror staff can open them only to help you, for example when you ask for support, and each time they do through Mirror, Mirror records who opened them, what was opened and when.
- Recording consent is yours to obtain. Zoom shows its own recording notice to participants — please make sure everyone in your meetings is comfortable being recorded.
- Access tokens are encrypted, and disconnecting revokes them with Zoom immediately.
Full detail is in our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
How to remove the integration
From inside Mirror
Go to Settings → Connected apps and choose Disconnect. This revokes Mirror's access with Zoom and stops all future processing straight away.
From your Zoom account
- Sign in to the Zoom App Marketplace.
- Open Manage → Added Apps and find Mirror.
- Select Remove.
Removing it either way deletes Mirror's stored Zoom credentials. Coaching that was already generated stays in your Mirror history, and you can delete any of it from your analyses at any time.
Troubleshooting & support
Coaching didn't appear? Check that the meeting was recorded to the Zoom cloud (not locally) and hosted from the Zoom account you connected, that "Coach me on the meetings I record" is turned on, and that the meeting was long enough to produce a usable transcript. Zoom can take a few minutes to finish processing a recording before it notifies Mirror.
